FireDaemon Zero is a standalone software product. The FireDaemon Zero installer is supplied as an executable file (.exe).
The name of the 64-bit installer file is FireDaemon-Zero-x64-4.M.B.exe, where B is the minor version number, and B is the build number. For the remainder of this guide, we will refer to the FireDaemon Zero installer as FireDaemon-Zero.exe.
Pre-Installation Checklist
- Review the FireDaemon Zero Compatibility guide before attempting to install FireDaemon Zero
- You must be logged in as a local or domain administrator before attempting to install FireDaemon Zero
- Ensure all Windows Updates are applied to the target system before installing FireDaemon Zero
- FireDaemon Zero can be installed using Winget or by downloading the installer and installing manually.
Installing FireDaemon Zero using Winget
Microsoft Winget is a package manager built into Windows 10 and 11. Winget can also be installed manually. Open an elevated command prompt and type the following commands to install FireDaemon Zero via Winget.

Installing FireDaemon Zero Manually
The following steps run through the manual installation process. Download the FireDaemon Zero installer from the FireDaemon website.
Double-click the downloaded installer executable file. Click Yes to allow the installer to run.
The Advanced Installer begins with the welcome page. Click Next.
Select the destination folder where you want to install FireDaemon Zero to and then click Next. If you wish to select a different destination folder for the installation, click the Browse... button and make your choice. Ensure you check "I agree to the License terms and conditions".
If you are deploying on Windows 10, Server 2019 or later Microsoft Windows Operating System, you will be presented with the option to create the Interactive Services Detection service (UI0Detect) and be given the option to be taken to the website to download FireDaemon ZeroInput. Make your choice then click the Next button.
You may need FireDaemon ZeroInput to switch to Session 0 successfully. It is downloaded separately to ensure that you read and understand the warning and disclaimer.
Click the Install button to start the installation process.
The installation process will then begin. This may take several minutes. You will see the Status updating as the product installs.
After the installation has finished, the Wizard Completed page is displayed. Click Finish to close the wizard.
FireDaemon Zero will now be running in the System Tray Notification Area. Look for the FireDaemon Zero icon in the System Tray area. Right-clicking on the icon will display the FireDaemon Zero menu.
